It was heads down and into it this week as can be seen by the following images:

Samantha who has completed her clay work and started putting shim lines into the sculpture with a first coat of pink plaster mould. The first layer of plaster is pink which will indicate the edge of the mould.

Double Class this week by Samantha Welch

We did a double class this week as we will be finishing this term on June 21st. Lots was achieved and following is a selection of pictures from the day.

Sculpture is such personal thing and Damien Lucas imposes no rush at all on students.

This week saw students applying their finishing touches to their sculptures as well as cracking open some of the plasters.

The Sculptures are Taking Shape by Samantha Welch

This week most of the students have finished their armatures and are getting into the addition of clay to form their sculpture. Once the armature is finished it forms a sound base and structure for the clay to be moulded/ sculpted upon.
For the next few weeks we will be working on the addition of and sculpting of the clay.
