Classes 16th May 2011
Great classes today and we had Tim Mooney on hand to get some images for us. Besides his normal work of Aerial Photography, Tim enjoys the classes as much as the students … and it shows …
There were two classes today. The first with Damien Lucas teaching and the evening class with Kat Shapirio:
Here are some pics from Damien’s morning class:
and here are some pics from Kat’s evening class:
Nik Bowden visits Myocum School of Sculpture
Monday 9th May at Myocum school of sculpture
Nik Bowden’s mould making talk was excellent. Nik has a cold casting foundery in Queensland. At the foundery Nik takes clay sculptures and walks them thru the process to become a bronze sculpture.
All the students gained a lot of knowledge from Nik
Thankyou Nik and Neleda for a wonderful afternoon.

MONDAY EVENING CLASS WITH KAT T1 2011
Cathie-anne is working on a beautiful Barbara Hepworth form, that she is looking forward to seeing in it’s cast cement state as an outdoor piece in the garden.

David begins with a marquette of a modigliani head, which he has affectionately nicknamed “margaret”.
…scaling up in week 4, excited to be packing all that clay into the armature.
….week 5: building up his head, which will also be an outdoor piece in cast cement.
…week 6: defining the form more and more….

and Kat’s “tori”….almost ready to get the mould on!

Our life study class started this week which is every Wednesday with new students and next week I will add photos and a blurb on the Monday evening class.

New Sculpture by Damien Lucas
Damien Lucas, our teacher at ‘Myocum school of sculpture’, has been working on this large portrait sculpture which he originally worked in clay and did a plaster mould last week.
He has some repair work to do on his sculpture and needed to soak it in the water (our pool here at ‘emisiy’) before repairing and in the next few weeks he will colour the sculpture.

‘Myocum school of sculpture’ started its first term of the year last week so more stories to follow.
